This means he's had most of his important character growth, but now has to wrestle with the effects of said character growth and the weight of his decisions. He's finally learned how to be a real boy, but with that comes newfound guilt over his past actions. And learning how not to be a prickly asshole is going to be something he might always struggle with. Character Details Age 17 Hair/Eyes Dark eyes, dark hair cropped very short, military style. (Ignore the icon hairstyle... pls...) Height/Weight Height is slightly on the tall side of average. Weight is SKINNY AS FUCK. No muscle tone to speak of. Someone please feed this boy a sandwich. Notable Traits Posh British accent! Dresses like a much older person-- almost exclusively in fashionable, well-tailored suits. Vests and kerchiefs etc, though often forgoes a tie. His hair is usually immaculately groomed, and you'll never see him in casualwear. 15 Second Summary Nathaniel is a magician from a crapsack world where magic works only by summoning demons from the astral plane and binding them to your will. Like, as your slave. Yeah. Over the centuries, magicians have become the ruling class on the backs of demon slave labour, while the rest of the population who aren't magicians suffer increasingly shitty conditions and are considered second-class citizens. This is the toxic mindset Nathaniel was indoctrinated into as he grew up. However, as he grows older, he finally begins to see the horrors of the system he never questioned, and sets about working to dismantle it. Nathaniel himself grew up almost entirely isolated in a physically and emotionally abusive foster household until the age of twelve. This was the norm for magician children like him, so he doesn't consider it anything other than usual, but as a result he's extremely prickly and Bad At People. His crapsack world means that he learned from a young age to always assume the worst of people, always assume they have an ulterior motive, always hold himself at a distance and consider others only in terms of "allies" and "enemies." Living such a lonely existence, he's actually desperate for the praise, approval, and close companionship of others, but doesn't seem to realise it himself. He has a small vain streak, mostly borne of the same desire to impress others and present himself well. He has a quick mind and tends to think laterally and in terms of strategy, but often forgets to factor human behaviour or emotion into the problem. Which is ironic, considering he can be quite temperamental himself. (But only in private. Never in public. Weakness in front of others cannot be borne.) An unforgiving and over-achieving perfectionist, once he has a direction, Nathaniel will pursue it to the ends of the Earth like a dog with a bone. Stubborn as hell. He enjoys mental pursuits, and often learning for learning's sake. Sure, knowledge is power, but he's also just secretly a giant nerd. Abilities & Permissions Abilities Nathaniel can do magic, BUT NOT IN SIDEREAL 8'D. Magic in Nathaniel's canon comes from other sources (mostly demons) not from the magician themselves, so to those who have innate magic sensing powers, he shouldn't register as anything other than a regular human! Other than that, he can speak/read/write a boatload of languages, which is not terribly useful here. HE'S ACTUALLY THE MOST USELESS. Permissions Honestly I'm pretty easy-going with most things these days, I don't really have any hard "no's" and I assume if stuff is getting dicey we'll probably be in contact already anyway!
